The organ that has been most clearly shown to be more accurately studied by MRI than CT is the liver. Taking patient safety into consideration emphasizes that MRI should be used for imaging the liver over a CT scan.

3.2 cm well demarcated lobular lesion involving the right hepatic lobe posterior segment in a subcapsular location. Findings are consistent with a benign liver hemangioma. There may be several other tiny hemangiomas as described above within the liver. The remainder of the upper abdomen is normal.
